a few days ago my boyfriend wore this shirt, and i commented on what a nice plaid it was, and how well it fit him. so the next morning, while he was sleeping in, i tip-toed into his closet and helped myself. i’ve been meaning to try a few plaid-on-plaid outfits, and had been lamenting the fact that i don’t own a single plaid shirt. how did it never occur to me that my boyfriend’s proliferation of plaid (honestly, it is 90% of his closet) would come in handy?

with a simple knot at the waist, i suddenly felt like my blouse collection was doubled (this is one of my boyfriend’s pet peeves- i call any button shirt a ‘blouse’. i guess it isn’t manly). when he finally woke up, he was not exactly thrilled by my idea of borrowing his clothes, but i said i would gladly let him wear anything of mine. he said ‘fine, i’m going to start carrying your fancy purses and wearing your shoes’. this i would like to see.

maybe one day soon i can post my boyfriend’s version of this very same outfit, and we can do a ‘who wore it best?’ poll. i hope i can count on your vote!

i hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving holiday! i know i sure did.

as has become tradition these past few years, the man-friend, dogs and i went out to montauk for the holiday, where we hiked in the woods, walked along the ocean, and stuffed ourselves silly with good food.

what has also become a tradition for this trip is that i dress ridiculously most of the time, and these photos give you a look at my favorite holiday ensemble (it is actually quite similar to an outfit i wore on this very same beach last year). 

i could easily hide from attackers in this outfit, as i blend right in with the sand. well, i’d have to bury my shoes. i’m reading another children’s book series about “the mysterious benedict society” (which i HIGHLY recommend), and there’s a character in the book who believes everyone should wear shades of their skintone. she always wears a mustard yellow color. so for me its a cool toned pink.

i like to throw in a few shades of white and oatmeal too. i didn’t mean to wear these silly fingerless gloves, but they happened to be in my bag, and it was COLD in montauk. 

aside from these photos i hardly took off my vest all weekend. i swear it is the best thrift store buy of my life.

ah so many hair-in-the-face photos for one post. how very blogger-esque of me! in my defense it was very windy.

i suppose that’s enough beach photos for one day. i will have plenty more from montauk to show you, allowing myself to dress like a slob for the next couple weeks.

now i have one business item i’d like your opinion about. you may have noticed noel and i played around with our blog layout just slightly this morning, so that the photos are a larger size. we’ve been meaning to do this for well over a year, so its about time. i’m also going to work on a new banner.

are there any other changes you’d like to see? different alignment, different font, different colors, etc? sometimes i see blogs that are so hard to read for one reason or another, and since i’m no expert on graphic design, i would love feedback. even if you read other blogs that have a layout you think is particularly good, that would be very helpful!
