noel vallens: make it good

this is my absolute favorite time of year, and my friend and i just snuck out of work for a bit to go hang out in the park with some sleeping pigeons, and other people whom i guess don’t work during the day.

it’s unfortunate that i didn’t get a close-up of this skirt and it’s weird texture mix of faux-suede, monochrome animal print detailing, and bright blue-purple color.  what a combination!  it’s pretty bright, and i’m always thinking, how can i make this thing not look so flashy? today, i decided not to fight it and just wear the brightest shirt i own, and go full-clown inspired.

noel vallens: dynasty dreams

when meeting up for drinks with a southern friend, in town from savannah, i thought the occasion called for something sassy.  so immediately my thoughts ran to gold, glittery….basically anything a cast member would wear from dynasty.

so, i dug out these little black sparkly shorts (there’s a small chance these are actually a slip).  they were long and not quite dynasty enough, so in the 15 minutes before heading out the door, decided i needed to hem them about 5 inches.  in my rush, i took no before photos!

i was a bit scared at my rush hemming, thinking the bottom might fall apart at any minute, but they held up quite well.

with such glittery shorts, i opted for more straightforward accessories.  these melissa shoes were a recent purchase on gilt.  i was so upset when they were delivered and waaay too big for my feet.  after returning them, the right size popped up and i snagged the last pair. i think my favorite thing about them is the cat peeking from behind the blinds on the sole!

worn with a vintage eel skin purse, vintage gold bangle cuff, and this necklace that apparently i’ve had for a while now, hiding in my jewelry supplies.

and, what’s an owls post without a jumping shot?
