today i’m taking a little break from the usual daily outfit posts to share some photos from the kate spade party noel and i attended earlier this week. 

the typically cheerful soho store was even brighter than usual thanks to this installation by rebecca ward, made entirely out of flouresent colored tape.

the most genius thing about this party was this CRAFT TABLE! it was loaded with scissors, tape, and plain white notebooks for guests to decorate. i want to keep this in mind for the next time i throw a party (which happens, like, never).

and here you can see mimi’s full outfit. i would very much like to abscond with her whole wardrobe- she has so many unique things, often self-designed and custom made. so, when i say things like “where can i get those yellow pants?!” she can oh-so-smarmily reply “you can’t”.

noel brought her fabulously frilly new apron dress out on the town. it is hard to see here, but noel is actually carrying a PURSE. she will tell you more about that later, but i am dying of excitement over it. you know i’m a little, uh, purse obsessed, to put it lightly. noel has delighted in spiting me and carrying a big ol tote bag up until recently, but now… we will have to take some photos of this new treasure.

lastly, my outfit for the party. it is kind of ugh because i had to rush home after work, and choose an outfit in all of 5 minutes. when this happens, i find the safest thing to do is throw on some things i’ve worn recently- so my la perla bathrobe/sweater (best sleepwear ever!), helmut lang dress, and fiorentini & baker boots. done and done.

what’s your strategy when you’re in a rush to get dressed, and want to look nice? i need help in this particular area- my bedroom always ends up looking like a tornado hit it, and i end up leaving the house in the same old thing i always wear.
