joelle van dyne: date of birth

yesterday was a BIG DAY for joelle van dyne- my birthday! and for a special day, i had to wear a special dress. i got this slinky little helmut lang number while shopping at loehmann’s with noel, lucretia and krystal.

it’s pretty dressy, and also tighter than what i normally feel comfortable wearing, but i love to wear yellow, and i love helmut lang, so i tried to come up with a way to wear this in the daytime without feeling awkward. so… cardiwrap, knee socks, flats, and my beloved fur vest.

i decided to do a sort of day-to-evening look with the dress- so here it is with my hurty boots (filled with pads- they are now almost bearable), and clutch.

i wore this convertible outfit on saturday for… BIRTHDAY BOWLING with my lady friends (we were by far the most dressed-up group there), then wandering all around the city in the rain, and ending up in a nice warm diner. so by the end of the night my stomach was filled with girly alcoholic drinks, grilled cheese, french fries, and an orange soda. this is SO not the right dress for all that eating.

on sunday, my actual birthday, i made sure to wear nice baggy things to brunch at my favorite pastry shop- madeleine’s. if i could, i would eat nothing but macaroons every day for life. it is my birthday wish.
